2006 WINNERS

Every year, Failaka Advisors solicits nominations for its annual ISLAMIC FUND AWARDS, recognizing the funds with the best performance or the most noteworthy achievements of the past year. Below is a list of this year's winners—with a description of the criteria for each award. Winners were announced at the 2nd Annual Islamic Fund Awards event, held on April 2, 2007 in Dubai.

Global equity fund with the highest returns for the past year.

Best GCC Equity Fund

Highest returning fund trading in GCC equities.

Best European Equity Fund

Highest returning fund focusing on European equities.

2006 Winner: Alfanar Europe Ltd.


Best U.S. Equity Fund

Highest returning fund focusing on U.S. equities.

2006 Winner: Amana Income Fund


Best Asian Equity Fund

Highest returning fund focusing on Asian equities.

2006 Winner: Prudential Dana Al-Ilham Fund


Best New Fund

Fund responsible for the most noteworthy innovation in the field of money management
over the past year. (Winner is selected from all award nominees by Failaka).

Best Balanced Fund

Manager of highest returning balanced fund relative to their benchmark,
in any geographic market, for the past year.

Best Contribution to Growth & Development

Selected from nominees by the awards committee at Failaka, given to the fund, service provider, governing body, or other entity that has made a noteworthy contribution over
the past year towards advancing the field of money management.
